Clear cutting for “the view”: Clear cutting and destruction of trees and vegetation of critical bank area within 200 feet of water on shoreline property. Clear cut native trees, destroyed the natural ecological systems on the bank. Cut down established trees- Western Hemlock, Pacific Ninebark, and Big Leaf marble trees that were approx 30 feet tall (or more) were observed to be removed. They left the logs on the bank in areas susceptible to land slides, in addition to the destruction of the natural ecosystem. Displaced animals (river otters, deer, raccoons, etc), confirmed by West Sound Wildlife Shelter (involved because displaced river otters came into residential area after the clear cutting).
Violation of Section 16.12.030.B.3 – Vegetation Management of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code.

No clearing permit is posted if they have one. We believe that the work they are doing requires one.
They have cleared/added an additional "driveway" to the main road from the site. There was a dump trailer on site filled with debris collected on site last week but it was dumped out on site 8/20/21 Friday AM and the trailer was removed. A backhoe was brought in 8/21/21 about 7:20 Saturday AM and left on site. I don't know what time they started work because I was gone for a while. When I got back about 11AM there was this pile of debris in the driveway and it appears they have been knocking down the old buildings.

(Photo just shows partial view of front of tiny house) Christian and Miriam Berg have been renting out this building illegally, as it has no functioning toilet (I was told to use the porta potty down the street or put plastic bags inside the non working toilet), additionally the unit has no exterior locks. I asked for locks and was told none of the neighbors have locks and it’s Bainbridge so they didn’t feel it was necessary. After a few months of living there and suspecting my landlord had been coming over and snooping around whilst I was gone, I decided to get a camera. I did catch my landlord entering illegally without permission and promptly told him that was unacceptable and moved out as soon as possible. Upon further research I see the building is not even permitted and the city doesn’t seem to be aware it’s even there. The Berg’s have been renting this unit out illegally for years.

Is this even legal? We live on Mandus Olson Rd off New Brooklyn and a neighbor (Evergreen Acres) at 8929 Mandus Olson rd NE has been hosting events at their property lately. Many cars (close to 40 or 50) were parked on the street this weekend, on both sides of the road, obstructing traffic and limiting passage to a single lane.
Additionally we’ve heard that they are planning more events on a regular basis. Their website indicates that they may be planning to develop an event center of some sort.
Can someone please check into this to alleviate this problem if possible. Or steer us to somebody who can
    Thank you
