I’m here at the daycare daily when parents pick up their kids. Traffic is speeding by, and there are no crosswalks. There needs to be a crosswalk with a flashing light to keep these kids safe.

Are there no crosswalks? Sure there are. There's a crosswalk at the corner of Highland Street & Prospect Street located 240 feet to the west. Also, there's another crosswalk at the corner of Highland Street & Loomis Place located 500 feet to the east.
Have you considered approaching the school from the other direction? That way you can pick up your child directly in front of the school where they have a designated area for "Drop-Off & Pick-Up".
