Description
Cars are speeding on Tolo Road every hour of every day. The road has no sidewalks and the 4-5 hills are treacherous for anyone walking them with cars coming over the peaks at sometimes SIXTY miles an hour. For some reason, the road stayed at 30 MPH in the recent changes and there are only 2 speed signs - one at each end.
There have been a number of serious accidents along Tolo including one fatality over the years.
Please come and take a look and come up with a plan to slow drivers down and make it safer for people to walk between houses and to Battle Point Park and the Grand Forest Trail.

Thank you for your report. We have forwarded your request first to the Police due to your report of vehicles moving at speeds of 60 mph. When Police have received the report, we are requesting they then forward to PWAdmin for City Engineer input regarding traffic calming measures.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this information.

Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. A Traffic Emphasis has been initiated based on the information you provided so officers can pay special attention to that area when they are able. In general, officers only have the opportunity to focus on speeding or distracted drivers when there are no urgent calls pending, but they do what they can. Part of the emphasis often includes placing a radar speed-reader in problem areas when we have one available, which helps remind some drivers of the posted limit.
Because it sounds like you are interested in pursuing long-term solutions such as revisions to speed limits or additional road signage, your complaint was also shared with the City’s Public Works Department.
