That's not it… this has been going on for over three years, crews come over every weekday, lots of noise, and they load cabinets and shelving into trucks to take away. You can see the shop inside when the big doors are open. They used to keep the front pretty tidy, but lately it's starting to look pretty crappy.

I also thought it was remodeling when I first moved saw the place. I haven't looked into the permit box at the front, but they sure aren't remodeling...

Forgot to add to my comment, I wish they *were* fixing up the building, it's really cool.

The property is zoned residential and a cabinet shop would not be allowed in that location. However, the presence of the permit box out front would indicate that there is an active permit at this location which might explain all the boards. I will ask a zoning inspector to drop by just to make sure.

A cabinet maker was indeed using this location to build and paint cabinets. The gentleman was very upfront and he gave our inspector the contact person’s name that he works for. The inspector has spoken with all parties involved and they have agreed to cease operation and remove all of the materials and tools by Monday, April 16, 2012. Our inspector will re-inspect the property on Monday.
