Description
When going north on M-24 at the corner of M-24 & Opdyke, there is confusing road markings.
The first thing you see is the attached sign indicating left lane closed ahead. You would think drivers in the left lane would merge right before the two lanes close, but they don't. When the traffic from Opdyke meets with the Lapeer Road traffic, the person in the right lane is either forced into the Opdyke traffic or has to find some way to fit into the left-lane traffic that didn't merge. The pavement markings aren't any better. Instead of marking the pavement to close the left lane, it is marked to collide.
A good solution would be to post a sign with the words "Left Lane Ends" below the sign in the picture. The next step would be to better mark the pavement.

Ken you are correct. This needs to be fixed. I live in that area, on numerous occasions I have had problems with motorist in the left hand lane sitting at the stop light not realizing that they should have gotten over before the light causing near collision when there lane ends as you have oncoming traffic in the right hand lane with no place to go. Please fix this Oakland County Road commission before someone gets hurt.
Thank you for posting this Ken!
