While on my usual Sunday morning ritual of picking up litter and trash along and around Central and 6th, a homeless woman awoke on the sidewalk and proceeded to drop her parents and urinate and defecate right in front of me. Aside from the disturbing sight, it was the ultimate slap in the face to someone actually out there on his own time attempting to keep our streets clean. This can't become our new reality!! And there were people out and about too with small children since a Sunday morning.

I know the city makes efforts dealing with the homeless but something is not working if this is a sight on a Sunday morning. The little woman who did it is a chronic case mentally and physically for I have seen her on the streets many times in the last year. Is there not a next step to take to help those in such a chronic condition? I am sure that PATH officers know her.

But would I would like here is to know the days and hours that PATH may be called in these situations. I did not think they were available on Sunday mornings but please advise us.

We somehow need to do better so that this is not the new norm. Thank you...

Yet again the fencing barrier at the Castile Urbana condo construction site has fallen. Luckily it fell away from the street - but will it next time? This was reported twice before after thunderstorms. See the note below when the issue was supposedly resolved and 'the barriers were filled with water.' That was not even true. I walk by them all the time and you could look down into the empty barriers. Do we just take them at their (untrue) word and not physically check them? You could kick the barriers and they sounded hollow. This is just embarrassing at this point...

At PSTA Stop # 1375 on 8th St. N at Pocket Park, someone took trash from the bin and spitefully tore it into pieces at the bus stop. I have seen this done before. Sad reality and frustrating as hell to those of us trying to keep our city clean.
