Notified About

  • Elbel Court Albany, New York - Whitehall
Children from Meyers Middle School waiting for the 4:00 bus on the southwest corner of Whitehall Road at Elbel Court are running into the street in front of moving cars and remaining in the street, blocking traffic. On at least one occasion children were sitting down in the street. There is a real danger that one of these children will be struck by an impatient driver. School personnel are not interested in helping. A crossing guard or police officer needs to be on the scene to control this situation before a child is run over.

Hackett Blvd. Between Harris And Prospect Albany, New York - Helderberg
There is a private driveway being paved between Prosepct terrace and Harris Avenue on the North side of hackett Blvd. The machinery and trailers are parked on the public grassy median. This is tearing up the median. Does the paving company have permission to do this? Will they repair the median? Do they need a permit to do the paving work? This transgression is but one violation of many where contractors and home owners use the public median along Hackett as if it is their private property. Worst offender is the Albany Academy.
  • 409 New Scotland Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - New Scotland
While walking on New Scotland Avenue today near New Scotland School, an APD SUV was observed around 10:20 am w/o lights or sirens on and clocked in at 51 MPH past the 20 MPH school zone speed radar sign. I can't imagine what would have happened if someone was pulling out of a side street or a pedestrian didn't see or expect a vehicle traveling at that speed IN A SCHOOL ZONE, what the outcome would have been. And large SUVs at that speed can be lethal...is it too much to ask our APD to put sirens and lights on if responding to a call and if not, then PLEASE SLOW DOWN, especially in a school zone, OMG!
  • Se C/O Cardinal & New Scotland Albany, New York - New Scotland

  • 480 Ontario St Albany, NY 12208, USA - New Scotland
trusco bank is not maintaining the sidewalk . if the city is not going to Force the bank to take care of this than the city needs to do it. im sure if a city official had to walk on on this part of the street and climb over the ever present snow bank this issue would have been resolved along time ago.

262 S Main Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - New Scotland
Newly planted trees (2020) not growing leaves except through the trunk and roots. There are multiple trees down South Main that are experiencing same issue as shown in picture. They all appear to be the same kind of tree, perhaps a maple?
  • 29-49 Grove Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - New Scotland
Domino's Delivery drivers are parking at the end of Grove Avenue making it difficult to turn on when there are cars parked on the end of the street on both sides. Pretty sure they should be using the church lot to park.
  • Forest Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - Helderberg
I submitted this request (#11492307) and no one has responded to it at this point. I'm submitting this one because the issue is still occuring. The city has recently spent a lot of money doing great streer improvements to forest avenue including putting in new trees and grass on the section coming up to Hackett. People continue to park their cars and now a big rig cab on the grass and new trees. Which will have to be replaced or fixed AGAIN next year with my tax dollars. I'm unsure why the people can't park on the street and not in the grass killing the grass and the trees.
  • 46 Pinewood Ave Albany, NY, 12208, USA - Helderberg
This picture is a portion of Helderberg Avenue off Pinewood Avenue between Pinewood and Ramsey (actually a dead end next to 46 Pinewood Ave. one week after the big storm. It looks like a driveway, but it is a poorly maintained city street with residents’ cars and driveways up the hill often stranded in a snowstorm. It needs to be cleared of the snow better now and salted considering the temps. Please also make sure this is on DGS and contractors’ lists of city streets to be cleared in the future. Thanks. Judy
