Description
Numerous street lights along Ascot and Turner Parkway, as well as surrounding areas, remain non-functional during nighttime, despite multiple complaints submitted to the City of Vallejo over the past year. In accordance with California public law, specifically section 835, it is the city’s responsibility to ensure proper illumination of public streets for safety reasons. The prolonged lack of adequate lighting poses a safety risk to citizens and may contribute to unsafe conditions on the roads, especially considering the current crime rates in the city. Urgent attention to this matter by the City of Vallejo is crucial to address these concerns promptly and enhance public safety.

Thank you for reporting this issue. There has been ongoing wire theft throughout the city. The traffic maintenance division is currently focused on Redwood Pkwy between Columbus Pkwy and N. Ascot. The circuit is halfway restored and they’re anticipating it being completed by the end of the month. Once completed, they will shift their effort to work on N. Ascot between Turner and Columbus Pkwy in the first week of January.
In the meantime, the traffic supervisor is working on a plan to speed up efforts by utilizing all of the staff in the traffic division to divide and complete the workload that has been created by the ongoing wire theft throughout the city.
