Too many here seeing code enforcement as some sort of HOA. Yes, Vallejo MC has some codes as far as property maintenance. But, they're applicable to actual public nuisance definitions. A few weeds or, overgrown lawn (which is actually an acceptable landscape design in these times of enlightened water use - as in no mow grass in front of the SCC property on Columbus Parkway) does not constitute something of public issue. Just because you don't like it and adhere to the English Garden esthetic.
Just how are "high weeds" or "ignored landscaping" a threat to the general public?
And, if this is to be the standard, then the City has many, many properties that we can start with. You know, what's good for the goose and all.
We should focus on things that are an actual, public nuisance here. Not on things that some people just don't like.
