CE19-0249 was the result of all that dialogue on the issue in the other SCF issue 5559368. How long ago did you first report this William? At this point I’m less upset about the encampment than I am about the service from C.E. , I am laser focused on follow up with this and a couple other issues in Vallejo. Accountability is where it’s at now. There’s nothing like going on to the COV webpage for resources and having to see the mottos and pledges of each Department’s commitment to the quality of life, professionalism and all the other stuff they claim.

No, your right Dee j, i have been reporting this for months, if not a year! If these people would keep their area kept up and clean i would have no problem with it. But as anyone can see they dont. They trash their surrounding area, they infringe on the wildlife and they contaminate the surrounding area with their human waste. All of this illegal. This area from sereno to the old raleys parking lot is a magnet for homeless camps.

If only the ppl we elected were as passionate about this city as you seem to be. Maybe you should get on the ballot. I’d vote for you.

In fact I do remember William posting this and about the guy in the pick up truck that “monitors“ that parking lot, and it was like a year ago. I even remember questioning if a guy sleeping in his pick up truck in the parking lot didn’t seem kosher. I could possibly look it up in the history of my comments, unfortunately there’s not a way to search them by key word, it would take a while. William, perhaps you could look at your history of posted issues and get a date and SCF case number? That way we can see what the original response was or why it was closed so long ago.

Look up this SCF case number, 5337015. It shows Williams report of an encampment on the side of Smart & Final, across Sonoma Boulevard from this location. If you also look at the duplicate case numbers, they attached this issue to the one at Smart and final along with a bunch of duplicates. So it looks like they’ve made many errors or have not paid attention to the posting again. (Sigh...)

Artsem, So what happened to Williams original complaint prior to this year? Shouldn’t the oldest complaint “Issue ID” be listed and the following complaints be considered duplicates?

There are issues from 2018 with an “Open” or “Acknowledged” status. If reports are being posted on SCF for documentation and tracking purposes only, it appears that you’re wasting your time.

See click fix it supposed to be to fix problems, I am starting to use it as documentation for all the problems that go without a response, say they’re fixed but are not, or have just been ignored. Someday when the city is solvent and functioning like a real city, maybe somebody will utilize all of this. Or maybe it would make a great presentation to just pick a few choice issues and present them to the city Council. As someone else said, you’re welcome to stand in front of the City Council and get blank faced stare with no response or comment. Been there done that, not sure what’s next, but I’m tired of just letting people slide on their job.

Dee, It’s also falling upon us as citizens to follow up on these issues. For instance your complaint about the sandbox being full of weeds and trash. You were told GVRD is responsible and they gave you a contact number, did you follow up and contact GVRD. And if you did, how many times will you have to go back and check on their work, also no timeline as to when it might be addressed. Perhaps you did follow up, but my feeling is people enter their issue here and assume it’s getting fixed. How many folks really check on the issue they entered to see if it’s been dealt with? Especially after you get a response saying that it has been taken care of.

The park employee's removed the trash the next morning, but i understand your point. I was told potholes were repaired that actually weren't. When i followed up again they finally came out and fixed them.

Yes, but did they address the weeds? And will you be checking to see if it gets done? It’s not right to be investing our time when it should be handled by our City Staff. Can’t tell you if it’s sheer laziness, ineptitude or they just don’t care...maybe a combination of all three. It’s getting tiresome, and if it continues like this I’ll just resign from SCF and join in wallowing in the city filth. Thank the Lord I live on a semi-decent block not adjacent to a homeless occupied park or one of the other blighted properties in this town.

Dee, by the way, to answer your question about what happened to Williams previous posts. I assume they were consolidated into one issue as duplicates. If you type in one of the duplicate numbers you get the key case that it’s now attached to.

Artsem, Despite our differences in opinions and my criticisms of various complaints ... I sincerely respect your efforts and commitment to improving the quality of life in Vallejo. Your tenacity is admirable.

Reported on 4-11-2018, 9-19-2018, 11-12-2018, 11-26-2018, 12-14-2018, 12-28-2018, 3-22-2019 this is how many time i have reported this issue, and im not the only one who has reported it. I use 700 sereno dr., others use a different address. Regardless of the address, it still hant been addressed. Property owner should be required to fence off their property since nothing else seems to work, fines, if any are issued ,sure dont seem to be working. These"people" are breaking the law, why are they not being prosecuted? Do the laws not apply to these "people" because their homeless? What give s them a free ticket to break the law? I can guarantee you that if a taxpaying citizen did this they would be hit with a hefty fine!

The City must ask for voluntary compliance? What kind pf BS is that? This property has been reported off and on for over a year by different people. Nothing has been done but giving us taxpayers a bunch of lip service on how they have a case against this property. Why are these vacant property owners given so much leeway? They are the biggest abusers of the law in my opinion. The moment someone trespasses on these properties, the city should be allowed to stop it in its tracks and evict these lawbreakers Instead, they compound with more camps, garbage, filth and a unsightly look about them! The COV is dragging its feet when it comes to cleaning up this town. It simply looks awful as you drive through its streets. Parking lots full of RVs with garbage all around them, "people"camping out in doorways of businesses and nothing being done.People are scared to go shopping with the threat of someone accosting them as you go into the store. What doesnt city hall and its minions not see? Once again, if doesnt affect their way of living, they dont care. I would say 99% of the people running the city dont even live here, so why give a hoot!

Just because our code enforcement hasn’t done their job proper doesn’t mean that property owner isn’t entitled to due process. That’s a shame, because it could’ve been dealt with by now. I actually have a problem holding the property owner entirely responsible, since they are not the ones breaking the law initially. If we had to secure every open lot in Vallejo, it would just be a bunch of cyclone fences... which would look better than an encampment and trash. But still, even when they do fence their property in and post no trespassing signs....I guess it doesn’t really mean much if we have no more patrols to enforce it. I’m just about ready to treat this like the abandon vehicles & traffic enforcement, why bother reporting it at all.....

Oh, then there is the budgetary thing, where if you get a property owner to deal with it then it won’t come out of the City’s coffers.
