Description
Here it is the 2nd of may and nothing has been done with this eyesore! These dates are the dates i started reporting this area and nothing has been done! Nothing but lip service and excuses from the city. This site has grown so out of control that its disgusting. The smell alone would make you sick to your stomach. The human waste generated by these camps is unfathomable. Yet the city lets it continue. 1-16-2018,3-9-2018,3-22-2018,4-11-2018,9-19-2018,11-12-2018,11-26-2018,12-26-2018 and mayebe four more times in 2019 and then todays reporting. What happened to april 22nd? just another date come and gone with nothing accomplished! Proof is in the pictures! Oh, and the smell!

I also see unfortunate elderly men across from the Food Basket behind the auto repair place on Sereno & Broadway. Not sure if they are part of that encampment. As for myself I don’t go out much after 8pm so I don’t know if there not there at nighttime. Makes me wonder if homeless people want to stay homeless. Than again most are 51/50 who receiving a roof over their head isn’t the correct solution. There’s people who aren’t 51/50 and can’t maintain the responsibility of being a tenant/homeowner much less someone who has a mental disorder. Of course addictions are definitely a whole other issue. Some because of a setback and lost hope. They don’t know how to get get unstuck and ready for a comeback. Some homeless people in TheCity ride BART at night believing their safe at the station. Encampments are for those who feel safer amongst themselves.
Some people care more about animals than people.
Homelessness is horrible no matter where.
Would a city councilman person, any official in COV go to any of the encampments and carry on a conversation with these people who very well may have been an upstanding individual. A veteran, a divorcée, unemployed, abandoned spouse? Some who can’t afford to renew their CDL, a copy of a birth certificate, a bus ticket to a family member out of state/town.

As previously mentioned, we “close” an issue in SeeClickFix once we've acknowledged the complaint; however, this issue is not "Closed" per se; it will remain an "Open" case with us until it is corrected.
To provide a little insight on our process, all property owners are initially provided warnings. If do not respond within the given timeframe on the Warning Notices we send them, a Notice of Violation and/or a citation (both notice types include fines) may be issued and if not paid on time, a lien is placed against the property. If the property owner continues to ignore these notices, fines, and liens, then the City of Vallejo may seek to obtain a warrant to abate the issues. The fines and liens are then assessed onto the property taxes. All tenants/occupants/banks/lenders/interested parties are also contacted throughout this entire process, however, the ultimate responsibility lies with the person(s) and/or entity on the title/deed.
