This is not a new issue and many photos have been posted. Piles of trash left behind at abandoned encampment. The fact that the city has not made any efforts to clean this us sends the wrong message. The city seems to be saying that is it ok to leave piles of garbage in a park. It is not ok! What would happed to me if I started rolling my trash cans to the park and dumping my trash there?

Clearly a truck loaded with a dump run just dropped their load along Sacramento Street. 10-20 garbage bags, broken furniture, box spring. Someone needs to start ticketing for this, it happens pretty much every night - should be easy to catch them, just have to try.

Piles of trash on White Slough as a result of the encampment here. This is an environmental disaster on a protected wetland. Who should I contact about this? I have posted this issue multiple times as have many others.

This is an environmental tragedy with potential loss of habitat to wild animals and migrating birds. Yes, I do care about people and wish I had an answer to the overwhelming homeless issue, which is also a tragedy. But, to let this pristine waterway to become a trash dump is just not ok! This is avoidable, needs to stop and the area restored for the wildlife. I would be happy to come help clean it up once the people are moved to a location that has toilets and trash cans.
