Description
There is no speed limit signs for several blocks on Concord. The speed that is happening is going to end in tragedy. Concord is being used as a cut through for Townsend. We need more stop signs, some flashing ones, and police presence too. No prior intervention has helped. Please take this seriously now. We have been reporting this issue for a long time with lackluster response. Please send the Engineer out here to fix the speeding somehow. Thank you.

I have done all the right things in reporting this issue and asking for help. Please respond. This is a City issue, a Police issue and a pedestrian safety issue. I have done everything each one of these agencies have asked of me including reporting the speeding, the bus speeding, etc to no avail. Supervisors come out from CTtransit and sit on the street with the blinkers on or when pushed will move to a side street. I know the police has contacted CTtransit and CTtransit tells them to issue the drivers of the buses tickets. Everyone is pointing fingers at each other. Even Sal our Alderman has taken non-action. I will be taking video of the buses as reporting them by number has been unhelpful. I would like to know when someone is coming down here to fix the issue, not just provide a short-term fix. I would also ask the Mayor's office to provide me with the process by which the bus can be moved from our residential road to the state highway system or to the Tweed border where there is only one row of houses and much less risk of someone getting killed. There is absolutely no reason to be on Concord with the buses. I would also request that the Engineer/Police come implement a long term solution to the speeding, not the short term fixes which last a day, before someone is seriously injured or hurt. As a taxpayer of New Haven, I have no interest in paying for the lawsuit that is going to happen if there continues to be a lackluster response. It is not a matter of if, but simply of when a tragedy is going to happen here.
Please work as a team and get this done.
