Between this house with the homeless men living in the front lawn bushes and the one thats close to collapsing across the street, its disgusting. There is a home daycare two foots over from this house too. As a homeowner who has to look at this every day with constant complaints made to the city and no action to be taken is unacceptable. What do we as taxpayers and neighbors of this home have to do for something to get done.

It’s so frustrating the situation at this house (and this particular post) has not been properly responded to by the city. It would seem the city of Hammond has no compunction with property owners who allow vagrants to live openly on lawns, and under trees/bushes and porches with no bathroom facilities to speak of. Where is the Health Dept in all this? These squatters are the former occupants of 1806 Brown…and we all can see how that turned out!
Still no word on whether 1806 is to be rehabbed or demoed yet either. I’m pretty sure if these properties were on Knickerbocker we wouldn’t need to air our concerns on this app. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Daycare used to have kid on house arrest for armed robbery selling drugs on porch. Now that owners have moved it's more of a rental property. People living their now seem ok but ones before used to drink in suv and throw beer bottles all over the street. Still don't know why the city let a business move into a residential neighborhood

We try not to walk past if we can, our daughter gets spooked by the yelling. We've noticed vehicles pulling up on the corner and every few days it seems like they have a party in the bushes. I supposed it fits right in with that crumbling property

Somebody was in the house yesterday afternoon. Front door was wide open, I could see an arm. One squatter was sitting below as usual.
