Thanks for reporting! Our security on-site work hard to stop trespassers from entering the building. . We have alerted the security team about the open window, they will try to deter trespassers from entering while we move forward with the demolition process.

ask the security to actually walk the site rather that sitting in the car or leaning against it.... I saw people entering in the backside of the building while the security sat in the parking lot on the other side of the building last week,,, SMH

Yesterday 4 to 5 windows in second floor had ply pushed out it seems to escalate as time goes by , there is no security presence on west side , this is probably where they are entering from . The public health hazards are one thing , the big issue is the extreme fire hazard and the neighbourhood down wind ! please advise on the demolition progress , has a permit with BAAQMD ben pulled ?

End of the year ?? this structure is a five alarm fire waiting to happen !! with the potential to contaminate the St Francis park neighbourhood (down wind) the COV's exposure to liability should be of scale to realy expedite demolition ! . Inspection and assesment could be done NOW , once started the structure could be removed in one week . Engineering controls will be a challenge in the rainy season (storm water contamination being the issue) an early Fall target would be most cost effective . Meanwile a proper boardup would keep them out and greatly reduce the risk of another fire . Btw they are back in the shack by the RR tracks the population seems to be growing , building gone = end of problem ........

The permit was submitted to BAAQMD approximately two weeks ago and we are waiting for approval. Every time trespassers re-enter the building or the shack the police are notified. We are working to expedite the process as much as possible while following all state health and safety regulations.

If Our City Council declares this structure a public health and safety emergency BAAQMD can issue a permit within days , this also provides for leinency of the %80 land fill diversion which in turn lowers costs of demolition and greatly expedites the project .

All this week, Mon-Wednes 7/28-7/30 -- plywood off again on West-facing window, upstairs off deck. Plywood also ajar on other West-facing upstairs windows, guess the squatters wanted some ventilation.
I realize the City has plans to demo, and said they would have security -- but can the City leave these reports open until someone actually fixes the issues, i.e., boards the place up again? It will be months before this bldg is demo'd, but in the meantime, we want to minimize the nuisance.

This is not rocket science , unless the trespassers have ladders they are gaining acess via crawl space or first floor . A proper boardup could prevent acess thereby greatly reducing the COV's liability exposure (insurance companies refer to structures like this as attractive nusciences) Our liability remains huge and the waste continues to build up , raising the costs to demolish the structure .
A pre demolition hazmat assesment/inspection will be needed , this could be done now! , "essentially re-occupying the building" this will be needed to @#$% costs anyway and will determine method/location for debris disposal .

Thanks for the info ! please share the BAAQMD "P" number with the Community , BAAQMD typically issues permits within ten working days if the application has compleate info . If there is a delay pls share info, We might be able assist with permit process , Community input actually has some pull with BAAQMD ..

to date there is no "p" nunber with baaqmd (bay area manigement district) the last one was the post,fire Removal of building 655 .. Which burned down ,, and required
an $ 800,00 remediiation ... For Land that We actually owned .. So We spent almost one million Dolllars to clear a site , that We owned , and spent $800,000 Dollars to effect an create a plo tof bare land , that has allmost no infrastructure And is in fact
a Brouwfield, yet The single Facility located in a Residential Neighourouhourd , of existening Families , has been Ignored ... Enough is enough .... Re: the shack , two workers with a truck , could take it appart in one day , load it into a Truck , using only hand tools , and drop the remains , at the American Canyon Land-fil ltransfer station... Done deal ... end of shack .. period ... Lets be proactive !!

Apparently the structural issues that prevent staff from keeping the B&P boarded up are not obstacles to squatters. Plywood clearly ajar on three west-facing windows today (venting?).

Also, please have security *circle* the building when they pass it. A neighbor reported that at the same moment that security was parked on one side of the building, a squatter entered the building from the opposite side. Alas, very similar to the position of security cameras...

We encourage everyone to attend the City Council meeting on August 26th to receive an update on the award of the contract for the demolition of Building 513, the Badge and Pass Office. Information regarding this will also be communicated via city communications after the City Council meeting.

Not so soon , yes thank God that this blight has been demolished , yet the pile of debris still remains a,lbeit covered with plastic , and well whetted down ... However there has been no update as to the status of DISPOSAL as per the Community right to know act , subject to Superfund Law ... Is there a problem with organics , or other constituents ... Full public disclosure is the LAW PERIOD ... Why has the debris not been removed ..... To date Lab analysis as reported is PUBLIC RECORD , so do not try to OBFUSCATE .. You would be so much better served by just telling the truth to the People that sign your pay cheques ..............
