this issue has not been resolved-it seems you dont want to do the work to install speed bumps! fine then install 2 speed limit signs on mountain view ave [ 15mph ] to help bring to light some type of awareness in regards to public safety!

Thanks for reporting! Our Traffic Engineer is going to perform a site study in the area to determine if it meets the requirements for a reduced speed limit. This test takes several weeks. We will keep you updated with the results.

UPDATE: Our Traffic Engineer will be temporarily placing speed count equipment on the street in the next week or two. Once the survey has been conducted, the Engineer will be able to complete the investigation and provide feedback on this location. I followed up with our Traffic Engineer and was given the following information from the traffic study:

"I had a count taken and the 85% speed is 25 mph, which is consistent with the existing speed limit of 25 mph. Per California Vehicle Code Section 22358.3, a speed limit of 15 or 20 mph can only be established on roadways that are 25 feet or less in width.

Mountain View is 27-30 feet wide, so does not qualify for a lower speed limit."
