The City of Vallejo Traffic Engineering Dept. has said "Alameda St. is a perfect candidate for a road diet". The City of Vallejo General Plan acknowledges that Alameda St has a traffic accident problem:
"Data in the Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System indicates that collisions in Vallejo tend to be
concentrated on Sonoma Boulevard, Broadway Street, Alameda Street, and Tennessee Street..."
There are state grant opportunities coming up to get funding for such a project:
