apologies for the bad picture.. At the corner as of this morning there is caution tape, plastic sheeting, a lump of concrete in the gutter and various chunks broken of concrete and asphalt in the yard right by the sidewalk. I bet this curb work was really expensive for the city; Too bad the contractor didn't clean up properly.
From what I understand, the sidewalk is the property owner's responsibility to repair/replace/maintain. So the contractor that replaced the sidewalk left the debris. The property owner should call their contractor and get them to clean up after themselves.
I have heard that too. In this case, it was a city project as they did a dozen or so curb cuts down the length of Alameda. They even put up a sign saying something like "Your Measure B tax dollars at work". I think the person controlling the checkbook is going to have a much better chance of getting this resolved, and hopefully holding their contractors to a higher standard.
