Thank you for reporting! This reports has been forwarded to the one Maintenance worker whose sole job is to respond to illegal dumping reports throughout the City. This person usually makes 2 or more trips to the dump everyday, with each load weighing in around 1,200 pounds. We strive to respond to all reports in a timely fashion. You can help alleviate the illegal dumping problem by recording the license plate or taking note of the appearance of anyone you see dumping illegally and reporting this information to the Vallejo Police Department.

My personal thanks to Fernando Arroyo who arrived at the dump site in his city maintenance truck shortly after I did. We both surveyed the site to document our findings and exchanged information. Mr. Arroyo is a good representative of the city's Public Work Division.

We want Vallejo to be a nice place. These people who dump are out of control.

This is a disgrace. The City of Vallejo Maintenance Division needs to install security camera's at this immediately. Neighborhood Law through the City Attorneys office needs to get involved here.

Thanks Courtney and the public works workers for removing the dumped trash. My understanding this particular spot is often used for illegal dumping. It would seem the immediate surrounding neighbors would be concerned enough to want to organize and participate to be proactive in discouraging and preventing repeat incidents in the future. So far, I haven't seen any evidence of this. Regrettably, the nearby residents next to the dump site will likely to continue to be victims of the same illegal behavior by taking a passive attitude and maybe only going as far as voicing outrage after each occurrence. I hope someone living near the dump site will tell me I'm wrong. herbonly@aol.com
